{sneak peek} baby A

Posted on May 11, 2011

I will admit that when I was younger, I never dreamed of having any kids. My sister is the one that I lovingly call “the baby whisperer”. I was going to have horses, a couple of dogs and cats, and possibly a ferret, because they are so cute! Of course, then I met Rob, we got married, had the most adorable baby.

Okay, okay, I’m getting off track. ;)

I love new babies. They are so delicate and tiny, and yet so strong. I love the way that they smell, like spit up milk, baby oil and just new. I admit that I shoot newborns just so that I can hold them.

On that note, I wanted to share a sneak peek of miss A’s session, she’s definitely a close second for cutest baby in the world, but I may be biased towards my own little monster. I love this macro shot of A’s little lips. Love it, love it, love it. Now, you can too!

I have to apologize for my lack of participation this past week. We received some super awesome news. While at the WPPI tradeshow in Vegas, we entered to win a contest, and guess what? We won a $1000 shopping spree to a vendor that we had been looking at, but weren’t sure that we wanted to go in that direction. Now we are super excited and not quite sure where to start.

Rob and I also attended the Becca’s Closet Gathering. Becca’s Closet is a nationwide group that helps girls that cannot afford prom dresses to have that experience. Our local chapter is run by a great couple of ladies who are making lives better. We were happy to donate a lifestyle session for the raffle. The night was a pure joy, the turnout was great, especially for such a good cause, because honestly, every girl deserves to have a great prom experience, don’t you agree?

Our week also had some downs in it. Rob’s grandpa passed on this week, it was quite unexpected for us and we will be heading up north to pay our respects. Unfortunately, all this meant that I put the blog on the backburner for a bit, but here’s to hoping that this coming week will be better for all of us.

I’m leaving you with a taste of what I’ve been trying to finish up on this week, Beth and Nick’s fabulous Vegas wedding, our first, but hopefully not last, destination wedding!

I just had to put these two shots up from this past weekend. Who doesn’t love a new baby? They are so tiny and perfect and all you want to do is hold them and just look at them. Ahh, I could watch them all day. I have the best job ever!

Don’t worry, as always there will be more to come.

I must apologize for my lack of blogging this past week. We had a horrible non virus attack the computer, you know the kind, the kind of antivirus that acts like a virus so you buy their product. It’s ridiculous, but Rob has it all sorted out and I’ve got just a little treat from Jake and Laura’s engagement session this weekend. It was really chilly, but we brazened things out, I even remembered to wear thicker socks this week, and we got some awesome images if I do say so myself.

I’ve got tons to do this week, so I’ve got plans to get up a few more posts before the week is out. Stay tuned for the love!

Deb and Erik have been waiting for the perfect snow filled day for their engagement session. Well, the day finally arrived and I am happy to announce that the day was perfect, the sky was a brilliant blue and the snow was still so gorgeously white it was nearly blinding. I’m including just a little taste of what we shot today, my fingers are still a bit frozen so they need to thaw a bit before I can type some more.

Enjoy this little bit of love!

photo a day ~ wedding day laughter

Posted on January 4, 2011

So, my second resolution for this year is to try and blog every day. They may just be like today, just a photo that I absolutely adore, or they may be longer, but I want to share everything with our readers, I just love to share like that.

Today’s shot is of a couple that told me that they were unphotogenic. I don’t know what they are talking about because they are so perfect for each other, so in love with each other that I find that statement a lie. Yes, I think they lied to me, I mean just look at the love they have for each other! This is one of my absolute faves from their wedding, a totally candid moment of the two of them being themselves. It’s moments like this that we strive to capture.

I just had to share a little from Kristina and Ryan’s fearless bridal session. Kristina was up for all that we asked, even getting into the icy cold water at Devil’s Lake for some amazing shots.

Here is just a taste, believe me when I say that we’ve got plenty more for you!

I just have to share a little bit from our amazing weekend. We met up with Jenelle and Casey at Chula Vista in the Dells for their rehearsal on friday, saw how high the Wisconsin River has risen, and got some quick shots of the scenery and the two of them. Jenelle and Casey are so funny and great together. We even had them practice kissing. A lot.

So here is just a taste of how our weekend started out. We had a fantastic time at the wedding on Saturday and then finished off the weekend with some senior sessions. We have been having the time of our lives, and I hope you enjoy this little taste, be assured that I have plenty more to come!
