{class of 2012} wi senior photographer, grace

Grace found us through another senior session we had blogged about out at Durward’s Glen in Baraboo and wanted to do something similar. We, of course, were happy to oblige. We love heading out to Durward’s Glen, the area is so beautiful and serene, just like Grace.
During the session, it did start this misty rain and as we were driving, I made Rob stop by the South Pass field of Devil’s Lake and we had Grace get out in the rain, it wasn’t coming down too hard, and we got some amazing shots as the rain let up and this great mist rose up off the bluffs behind her. Ahhh, it was so awesome!
Thank you, Grace, for letting us shoot you in the rain!

These are from a session we did last summer with Cassie. She is super athletic and wanted to show off her great tan, I’ll admit that all I do is burn.
So we headed down by the Wisconsin River for some great shots with the water and the rock formation, I love the way that the light was hitting us as we shot.
We then finished up in the studio for some cooler shots inside.

I believe that every senior deserves something different. So I always ask my seniors if there is a special location that they want to hit for their session, I love it when they tell me of someplace new, or have a friend that knows a great location. Maddie and Kacie did our two for one special this past year and Kacie had the coolest family friends that own a gorgeous house on the outskirts of town with some luscious buildings full of peeling paint and character.
Today I’m going to show off what I did with Maddie during our session. We started off at the private property and then headed out East of town to Durward’s Glen, which is just gorgeous.
I love this wall, isn’t the paint just perfect with this outfit?!
This was one of my first shots of the day, I love everything about it, especially the red swing.

I find that seniors are always exciting to work with. There are so many changes and questions in life, and the whole world is spread out before them. It’s a time with more questions than answers.
Bobbi is a girl after my own heart. She had just spent some time up in Minneapolis before we did her session. I’ll admit I was a bit jealous, I’ve been missing the cities a bit lately, although not enough to just take off and visit. I’m not willing, yet, to spend four hours in the car with a cranky toddler, but maybe this summer we can give it a try. Bobbi had been checking out MCAD, so I knew just by that comment that we would be having a lot of fun during her session.
Bobbi had some perfect locations in mind for her session. We started out shooting by some graffiti covered train cars, I love the bright colors. Bobbi is a perfect model if I do say so myself. Then we head out for some softer shots in a field of Queen Anne’s lace, went for a little dip in Skillet Creek (no, I do not let my seniors go in alone, I got wet, too) and then ended up at a super secret location that we are not allowed to divulge until she has graduated, but I’ll give you a hint that it makes you feel like you’re on top of the world!
Oh, it was such a blast and so easy taking these shots. I seriously have the coolest job in the world. Except for maybe those people that name the crayons, that would be awesome, too. Anyways, take a look at some of my fav’s of Bobbi, and feel free to leave some blog love, it makes me happy, unless it’s spam and then I just trash it.

Baraboo Senior Photographer {class of 2010} Brock
Posted on January 5, 2011
Yeah, that title is right. Class of 2010. I’ll admit that I slacked a bit on blogging my seniors in 2009. I’d like to use my office manager as an excuse, we were just getting used to having her around and nap time for her, mean nap time for me, too. Which meant the blog got a bit (a lot) pushed behind because Rob doesn’t blog. It’s just not his thing, while me, I love to talk. Sometimes I feel that I’m talking to myself on here, but I know I’ve got plenty of lurkers that love to look at our images.
So here is Brock. He wanted something completely different. No brick walls, no posing over his shoulder (I’m sorry I made you do it just that once and it was totally because the spot was perfect!). So, we met up in his neck of the woods and he showed us what is hidden in the woods. We found some amazing old train cars, one of which had no bottom so we could climb inside. Then Brock had to show off his homemade fort. Fort Herman. A couple friends and Brock had built it all by hand, it was really awesome, suddenly we were walking through the woods and BAM! there’s a fort waiting to be filled with adventure.
Well Brock, I do hope that your first year after high school has been amazing.
I love the light in this last one. As we were getting ready to leave, the light just shone so perfect through the trees that I told Brock just to stand there. Lol, I love it.

Here are some of my favorite shots from Amanda’s senior session this past summer. We shot both her and a friend during the session, Rob took Cole because the silly boy wouldn’t stop smiling at me, and smiling goofily I might add, so I got to take the lovely Amanda around.
We started in a tunnel, but then drove over to her location of choice, where I found an amazing blue wall, and Amanda showed me the perfect field of little purple flowers. There were plenty of bees upset by our intrusion, but we got some fun shots, my favorite with the fedora, and then headed out to an even bigger field of Queen Ann’s Lace and then to downtown Baraboo, where Amanda informed me that she enjoyed being enclosed. I love the shot of her standing in the big concrete opening, it’s one of my favorites.
Feel free to comment, I love to hear what you have to say, and I know our clients are always excited to read them, too!

It’s high time I starting sharing our Class of 2011 images, especially since this week is homecoming for this guy. As you can tell, Joe is big into sports. Rob and I had a blast with Joe, and even though it was crazy hot, you can’t tell that it was nearly one hundred degrees here, Joe was cool as a cucumber, not so much for Rob and I, let me tell you. Anyways, I’m getting off track here. Joe is big into sports as you can tell by his shots, we even hit the high school to get some shots on the track.
The clouds were amazing, and we got some sweet shots with them in the background, we even managed to finish up just in time for the sky to turn black and then start to get crazy windy, but not before Joe let me douse him with water, over and over, to try and get a Gatorade effect.
Take a look, let me know if you can pick out the Superman pose, and as always, we love to hear what you have to say, unless it’s spam, that’s totally not worth it to me.
I love all the equipment that Joe brought along, can’t you tell?
