Wisconsin newborn photographer, hello baby m!
Posted on August 1, 2011
I’d like to introduce you all to my new nephew, Matthew, or Matty as we call him. Let’s just say that Matty was not that excited to have this big black thing in his face during our photo sessions, not everyone can be fans of the camera.
I love treating our newborn sessions as semi-lifestyle sessions. I love the new interactions between parents and their new bundle of joy. Plus, newborn sessions are just fun, even if my model isn’t in the mood. I always tell the parents that our newborn sessions may take a while, we leave everything up to baby and we don’t rush. I love doing sessions at client’s houses, Matty has a sea themed room and I just adored his seahorse painting, if you can’t tell.
Enjoy! Thanks Matt and Maria for letting me come over and capture your handsome little man!

There is nothing better than capturing new parents. Never mind the fact that I get to hold the baby, and cuddle them. I love capturing emotions through my camera. I think that may be why Rob and I love weddings so much.
I met up with Andy and Michelle at their house to capture Jackson. What a handsome little man, he’s got just a hint of red in his hair when the light hits it right, and I find that so adorable! While Jackson may not have been too excited about the overzealous woman with the big black eye, I got some great shots. Although, who would be excited to have something big, black and shiny pointed at them. Not many people are, but I love to document these moments in time. I am loving our documentary lifestyle sessions that we are offering this year. Just a couple hours spent with you and your family, just naturally doing whatever you want. Playing at the park, or just hanging around the house, I would love to do more lifestyle sessions, so hit me up, people!
Now, here is the real reason you all check the blog. Pictures! I hope you love them as much as I do!

I will admit that when I was younger, I never dreamed of having any kids. My sister is the one that I lovingly call “the baby whisperer”. I was going to have horses, a couple of dogs and cats, and possibly a ferret, because they are so cute! Of course, then I met Rob, we got married, had the most adorable baby.
Okay, okay, I’m getting off track.
I love new babies. They are so delicate and tiny, and yet so strong. I love the way that they smell, like spit up milk, baby oil and just new. I admit that I shoot newborns just so that I can hold them.
On that note, I wanted to share a sneak peek of miss A’s session, she’s definitely a close second for cutest baby in the world, but I may be biased towards my own little monster. I love this macro shot of A’s little lips. Love it, love it, love it. Now, you can too!

I just had to put these two shots up from this past weekend. Who doesn’t love a new baby? They are so tiny and perfect and all you want to do is hold them and just look at them. Ahh, I could watch them all day. I have the best job ever!
Don’t worry, as always there will be more to come.
Wisconsin lifestyle photographer ~ one sweet day

Here is our first lifestyle session of the year! I had so much fun with Regina, Tom and their family. It was excited to see everyone come together, especially since they don’t see each other that often as Josh is living out in California these days. When I was a little girl, we would go over to their house, let me tell you that the house is even way more awesome than I remember! It’s such a gorgeous setting, and I am so happy that I was chosen to document this family reunion.
The grandkids were so adorable, especially when they were being themselves. I love kids, they always say the funniest things and do pretty much whatever their little heart desires. I brought along some treats, and with mom’s okay of course, gave the two little ones a little sugary jumpstart in the middle of the session. What a treat, they both ended up with little sugary smiles, which I fell in love with, and look at how cute they are anyways!
Regina, Tom and family, thank you so much for letting me capture this moment in your lives, I hope you love the images as much as I do!
I’ll leave you all with this sugar induced chair spin!

I had so much fun today on my first lifestyle session of the year. Truly, what is better than spending a couple of hours capturing a family as they get together, hang out and let the kids enjoy some super sweet sugary goodness?
I love the lifestyle session, I think it is way more fun than a regular portrait session and you can really be yourself. Here’s a little sugary taste of what’s to come.

This one is from last month, while I was going through the proofs, I saw this and immediately fell in love. Little miss C was really having none of me and the camera, but I got a few little smiles and giggles when mommy was tickling her. Here’s to a happy 2nd birthday, C!
wisconsin lifestyle photographer ~ mini session with Sue + Tim, Devil’s Lake
Posted on December 17, 2010
Sue was the first to snatch up a spot at our October mini sessions. She said it had been a while since she and Tim had gotten pictures taken of the two of them. I was happy to capture the love they have for each other. The morning dawned crisp and cool, of course it’s October in Wisconsin. The light was just perfect. I wanted to get up a few of my favorites from their session.
Enjoy!
Baraboo lifestyle photographer ~ mini session at the lake

I’ve got a bit of time since Rob is taking care of sassy miss Jamie right now, so I’m going to put up this quick little blog post from one of our mini sessions from October. It was a bit of a chilly day, but my cousin Mart brought her hubby and two gorgeous little ones out to see me! I love to capture my own family members, it makes me really step up my game.
Our session was quick, full of the sun shining down and so much love! Little misses B and B are just too cute for words! I love big B’s hair, her curls make me so jealous of my own rather wavy locks, they never do what I want. And then little miss B has got the cutest little smile that makes her eyes just slit right up, it is so adorable! Just take a look and fall in love yourselves.
I love this next one, I don’t get enough shots of myself with Jamie and love to capture some Mommy and baby, or big kid, time together.
I love miss B’s hug.
She is totally hiding her teddy graham from me, I love it!
See what I mean about the cutest little smile?

What a gorgeous day! Who knew that October in Wisconsin would be in the upper eighties temperature wise and utterly gorgeous?! We’ve been blessed, that’s all I can say.
We shot our last wedding of the season yesterday and while I haven’t had a change to go through the hundreds of shots to pick my favs yet, we went out today with a photographer friend of mine, Erin from Melissa Grace Gallery, and swapped family shots! I’ve been wanting to get family shots done for a while now, and this was the perfect chance. We met up out at South Shore and took a little walk. Little miss E was hilarious! She’s used to being the perfect model, and definitely let me know when pictures were done, lol.
I had so much fun, and had to share some of my favs from today, including a few of Jamie, notice the poor little eye. Of course she would get attacked by a mosqito the day before our family shoot! Those mosquitos love her, and she ends up looking just a bit like Quasimodo, poor baby.
I’ve got a ton to share, so expect more this week!
