I just wanted to pop up a quick shot from this past weekend’s wedding. I adore Jake holding onto his new bride. Enjoy your honeymoon, lovebirds!

{product talk} our new flash drives!

Posted on May 19, 2011

I just got an amazing box full of goodies today. Who isn’t excited to see a box on their front porch? I love mail, too, but not bills, not really a big fan of those ones.

Anyways, while on our trip in Vegas, we hit WPPI, it’s this majorly huge convention for wedding and portrait photographers. Rob and I wanted to check out our suppliers, maybe check into a few new ones and just get some information. Well, the convention was held at the MGM, which if you haven’t been is just enormous. So after several hours of looking and touching and getting bombarded with information, we left Vegas for the peace and quiet of home.

It was a couple days later that I got a call from Tracy at Pexagon Tech, informing me that I had won their big shopping spree at the convention. I was dumbfounded to say the least. I hardly ever win anything so this was so awesome, especially since we were really looking into the customizable flash drives, but decided that since we had just stocked up on DVDs, we would hold off until a later date. This was fate. I perused the website, made list after list, after list and finally gave Tracy my order and today it arrived!

We ordered wooden flash drives with our logo on them, they are so gorgeous that I am going to use at least one for myself, and maybe I’ll let Rob use one, if he’s lucky. ;) But these gorgeous flash drives are going to be a new addition to our product offerings for this year. Can’t wait, can you? Neither can I, now I just have to play around with how I’ll package them. Yay!

Take a look, they are even better in person!

There is nothing better than capturing new parents. Never mind the fact that I get to hold the baby, and cuddle them. I love capturing emotions through my camera. I think that may be why Rob and I love weddings so much.

I met up with Andy and Michelle at their house to capture Jackson. What a handsome little man, he’s got just a hint of red in his hair when the light hits it right, and I find that so adorable! While Jackson may not have been too excited about the overzealous woman with the big black eye, I got some great shots. Although, who would be excited to have something big, black and shiny pointed at them. Not many people are, but I love to document these moments in time. I am loving our documentary lifestyle sessions that we are offering this year. Just a couple hours spent with you and your family, just naturally doing whatever you want. Playing at the park, or just hanging around the house, I would love to do more lifestyle sessions, so hit me up, people!

Now, here is the real reason you all check the blog. Pictures! I hope you love them as much as I do!

I know, I know, another sneak peek, but I’ve been crazy busy lately and this is all I have to offer you right now. I’ve got a Bombshell session in the morning, a newborn session to finish editing, twins were just born and I can’t wait to capture them, plus Stacie and Brad’s awesome engagement session to go through. Oh, what a week. We’ve got our first in a string of weddings starting this Saturday and won’t have a weekend off until July! Yay, I’m so excited!

So, there will be plenty to post, just not enough time in the day to go through everything along with spending time with my family, which I enjoy as much as everyone else. Especially now that the weather is starting to warm up on us. So, I promise to get in at least one more blog post this week, but not until after I have my work edited down a bit.

So, for now, one of my favorite shots from the tail end of Stacie and Brad’s engagement session last Friday, what a perfect day, even with the rain and the shy groom.

{sneak peek} baby A

Posted on May 11, 2011

I will admit that when I was younger, I never dreamed of having any kids. My sister is the one that I lovingly call “the baby whisperer”. I was going to have horses, a couple of dogs and cats, and possibly a ferret, because they are so cute! Of course, then I met Rob, we got married, had the most adorable baby.

Okay, okay, I’m getting off track. ;)

I love new babies. They are so delicate and tiny, and yet so strong. I love the way that they smell, like spit up milk, baby oil and just new. I admit that I shoot newborns just so that I can hold them.

On that note, I wanted to share a sneak peek of miss A’s session, she’s definitely a close second for cutest baby in the world, but I may be biased towards my own little monster. I love this macro shot of A’s little lips. Love it, love it, love it. Now, you can too!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Posted on May 8, 2011

Hello and Happy Mother’s Day!! I hope that everyone has been enjoying this beautiful day. I know that I have.

It started with roses and a card signed by daddy and Jamie, her little scribbles just melt my heart. Since it was so nice out, sixty degrees in Wisconsin is perfect especially when it can change so drastically one day to another. So we took advantage of the warmth and headed outside.

We met Rob’s parents and his brother’s family out at the lake where we took Jamie’s shoes off for the first time. I think that she loved the feel of the dirt, sand and grass under her feet. She also has recognized her shadow. She’s been watching it all day, it’s pretty funny. Right before bed, I was making shadow puppets on the wall and she would try to swat them, I know it’s mushy, but hey, it’s my blog and I want to tell you all about my wonderful Mother’s Day.

We didn’t forget about my mom, either. We surprised her for supper out at the farm. My sister had gotten her a gorgeous bouquet from Wild Apples, so of course, I took some pictures. I love Wild Apples, everything that they create is just amazing and I can’t sing their praises enough.

I’ve included a couple of shots to tide you over for now. I’ve got a great newborn session to post, along with images of our newest prop, a super sweet vintage French style blue settee, I think you will all agree that it is going to be great.
