{album thursday} dave + emily’s 10×10 album
Posted on March 31, 2011
Goodness how time flies! Can you believe it’s almost April?! I know, I know, let’s get to the fun stuff shall we?
Today I want to show off Dave and Emily’s 10×10 black leather Miller’s album. This 30 page album is full of images that show their love for one another. Rob and I had so much fun photographing the two of them, that it was hard to narrow down the images, but we managed to narrow it down to 69 for this album. It was hard because Dave and Emily have such a great chemistry together and we love every shot. Have I mentioned lately that I just love couples in love? I really should more often. I love it when our couples are connected like that, and I hope that the album captures Dave and Emily’s feelings towards one another.
Here is just a taste of the album, along with some of the spreads.
Vegas ~ Day 1 at the Hoover Dam
Posted on March 16, 2011
I am just getting to our vacation pictures! And what a vacation it was. We had our first destination wedding, out in Vegas if you didn’t guess by now, so we decided to make a little mini vacation and see some of the sights since neither Rob or myself had ever been out to Vegas.
We may have exhausted ourselves, but it was totally worth it. Our first day was a trip to see the Hoover Dam. It is amazing. The dam is way bigger than I had imagined, I’ll admit that I was a tiny bit freaked out that the only thing between us and the torrent of the Colorado River was concrete. Of course, I’m just a big sissy and there is nothing to be afraid of. The view was amazing, there is nothing like this in Wisconsin. The land is so barren, just full of scrubby bushes, cactus and the mountains that just jut out of the earth. It is an artist’s dream and I was itching to paint, but of course I had only brought my camera and a sketchbook. One of the hardest things was choosing which cameras to bring since we only had so much space in our luggage. I’m so happy that we decided to bring a fisheye lens with us, it really helped to capture the whole vista.
Our first day started out with a stop in Boulder City at the Coffee Cup Cafe, which has the most amazing food. They have limited hours, but I would definitely stop in again for breakfast and the atmosphere, which totally rocks! Next door was an antique store with some amazing sidewalk displays, check for yourself, I had to break out the fisheye and take some shots.
After these shots, it was a straight shot out to Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. Can you tell that I am loving the mountains and the scenery?
This bridge is huge and spans the Colorado River, I was not a fan of driving on it, but then we couldn’t even tell that we were on a bridge until we were safely on the other side. I have a weird fear that bridges will collapse when I’m driving on them. I know, it’s a bit crazy.
Apparently, you rub this guy’s toes for luck. I made Rob do it, and look what, it brought us some good luck. Perfect weather and a great time!
Okay, Rob’s going to hate me for posting this shot of him, but I couldn’t resist. Here he is in front of the Hoover Dam, what a view, right?
{sneak peek} beth + nick’s fabulous Vegas wedding

I have to apologize for my lack of participation this past week. We received some super awesome news. While at the WPPI tradeshow in Vegas, we entered to win a contest, and guess what? We won a $1000 shopping spree to a vendor that we had been looking at, but weren’t sure that we wanted to go in that direction. Now we are super excited and not quite sure where to start.
Rob and I also attended the Becca’s Closet Gathering. Becca’s Closet is a nationwide group that helps girls that cannot afford prom dresses to have that experience. Our local chapter is run by a great couple of ladies who are making lives better. We were happy to donate a lifestyle session for the raffle. The night was a pure joy, the turnout was great, especially for such a good cause, because honestly, every girl deserves to have a great prom experience, don’t you agree?
Our week also had some downs in it. Rob’s grandpa passed on this week, it was quite unexpected for us and we will be heading up north to pay our respects. Unfortunately, all this meant that I put the blog on the backburner for a bit, but here’s to hoping that this coming week will be better for all of us.
I’m leaving you with a taste of what I’ve been trying to finish up on this week, Beth and Nick’s fabulous Vegas wedding, our first, but hopefully not last, destination wedding!

I just had to put these two shots up from this past weekend. Who doesn’t love a new baby? They are so tiny and perfect and all you want to do is hold them and just look at them. Ahh, I could watch them all day. I have the best job ever!
Don’t worry, as always there will be more to come.
