we’re back and ready to roll!

Posted on February 27, 2011

You may have noticed our lack of posts this last week and a half, well Rob and I went out to Vegas leaving the office manager in charge, would you believe that she didn’t do a thing? ;) We shot a fabulous wedding on Saturday, did some sightseeing, because neither of us have been out west before and it is amazing how different Nevada and Wisconsin are. We also attended the 11th annual WPPI Convention at the MGM. It’s this huge, fantastic trade show for photographers, we got to meet several of our vendors, and even find some new products that we want to test out. We can’t wait to implement some new changes.

I’ve got tons of posts in mind, a handsome little newborn from this morning, a couple engagement shoots to blog and, of course, some of our amazing trip! So, stay tuned later this week for more exciting news.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Well, love is in the air today. People are holding hands, cuddling and rejoicing in the feeling of love.  And really, what’s better than people in love? I hope everyone enjoys their Valentine’s Day and gets to spread the love to others.

Let’s celebrate life with love! I’d love to know how everyone celebrates this holiday, share your day in the comments. ;)

Have I mentioned lately how awesome our clients are?

Well, our clients are awesome. Deb and Erik have been waiting for the perfect winter wonderland scene for their engagement session. For Wisconsin, that shouldn’t be hard, right? You would think, but we had to reschedule a couple times due to warm temps, can you believe all our snow was melting?! Of course it’s freezing now, but the day of Deb and Erik’s engagement session dawned gorgeous, blue skies and the temps were well above zero, although still a bit chilly in the teens/twenties.

We started out at Buffalo Phil’s using the snow sculptures from the Flake Out Festival as an awesome backdrop. My favorite, if you couldn’t tell, is probably the pirate ship. We even braved the ice maze for some cute shots, it may have helped that we were all tall enough to see from one end to the other, but that’s a mere technicality if you ask me. ;)

We drove down to the strip for some quick shots, I found an awesome vine covered alleyway and got some fun reflection shots and then finished down on the Wisconsin River.

Deb and Erik were so much fun, they made snow angels, let us pelt them with snow while they kissed and Erik even gave Deb a piggy back ride. What a fun day. They even broke out their Wisconsin pride at the end, I love the red against the white snow, so perfect.

Take a look, let me know what you think, you know how much I love to read your comments, they make my day!

For those of us in the Midwest, we have been bombarded with snow this last week. It’s crazy how much can fall, and really, where do they put it when the trucks take all that snow away? That’s what I want to know. Jamie and I ventured out and shoveled the sidewalk before Rob came home, so of course I had to snatch some shots. It’s amazing how much she has changed in the last month and a half, from the little girl that detested snow so much she would cry if we tried to make her walk on it, to the little girl that is now willing to eat the snow off her boots when we get into the car.

I will admit that snow and I have a love/hate relationship. I love the way it looks, blanketing the world so everything looks new and perfect, but oh do I loathe driving on it. It does make for some super cute pictures though, and Rob and I have been taking advantage of how gorgeous it’s been lately during engagement sessions. It may be cold, but so pretty.

Anyways, here are some shots of Jamie the day we shoveled the walk. Everything was going great until her big mean mama placed her in the deep snow. Poor kid, but she is so darn cute, don’t you agree?

I must apologize for my lack of blogging this past week. We had a horrible non virus attack the computer, you know the kind, the kind of antivirus that acts like a virus so you buy their product. It’s ridiculous, but Rob has it all sorted out and I’ve got just a little treat from Jake and Laura’s engagement session this weekend. It was really chilly, but we brazened things out, I even remembered to wear thicker socks this week, and we got some awesome images if I do say so myself.

I’ve got tons to do this week, so I’ve got plans to get up a few more posts before the week is out. Stay tuned for the love!
