I just have to share a little bit from our amazing weekend. We met up with Jenelle and Casey at Chula Vista in the Dells for their rehearsal on friday, saw how high the Wisconsin River has risen, and got some quick shots of the scenery and the two of them. Jenelle and Casey are so funny and great together. We even had them practice kissing. A lot.

So here is just a taste of how our weekend started out. We had a fantastic time at the wedding on Saturday and then finished off the weekend with some senior sessions. We have been having the time of our lives, and I hope you enjoy this little taste, be assured that I have plenty more to come!

{albums} the new 10×10 Artbook sample

Posted on September 23, 2010

As some of you man know, we received our newest sample album this week! Rob and I are super excited to introduce an album that is museum quality and gorgeous!  The Artbook is handbound so it will last generations, will lay completely flat and has an awesome image wrap cover. The quality is great, and I find it to be awesome to wrap your album with an image.

Our sample is a 10×10 Artbook with 40 pages of luscious images. I didn’t want to try cramming all the fun into 30 pages, which is the lowest we’ll go, so went big and I am so happy that I did. Each wedding is unique and we want the album to reflect that. Our wedding albums start with 30 pages, adding additional spreads is always an option, especially if you want more images in the album.

It was really hard for me to choose which image for our sample cover. I wanted something completely different, something we’ve never done before. I showed it to Rob. He says, “are you sure you want that shot on the cover?” with his skeptical eyebrow raised at me. I looked back at him and said “oh yeah, this couple wasn’t traditional, no white dress, no bridal party. I want this sample to be as outrageous as possible, because our clients deserve an album that shows off who they are.” Won’t you agree? We want our clients to be giddy with happiness when they receive their albums.

Your wedding album will last for generations, it’s one of the main reasons we include an album credit with our wedding package. You deserve to have a gorgeous heirloom to show off, and we want to help make that happen.

Now I feel as if I’ve become a bit maudlin, so take a look at the images of our newest sample album. If you’re a bride or groom that have been looking at us, give us a call or even email at brie [at] realphotographyrealpeople [dot] com, we’d love to show off our samples and talk about your wedding day and how we can capture the memories for you.

{personal} a walk at Devil’s Lake

Posted on September 21, 2010

I love this time of year, the orchard’s are open, the leaves are changing and the smell, there’s just this smell in the autumn that you can’t find any other time of year, I love it all! We finally made it out to Ski Hi this weekend for caramel apples and turnovers. Silly me, I had gotten turnovers for Jamie and I, which she ate with me, but I do believe that she like Rob’s caramel apple even more!  She’d take huge bites from him, I thought she would choke, but she is a really good eater, if any of you have had the chance of eating with us and our little piglet, you know I’m telling the truth, I’m often afraid she’ll eat us out of house and home, but we’re okay for now. ;)

After Ski Hi, we decided to head out to Devil’s Lake’s South Shore and do a little hiking, no small feat with a giant stroller and Jamie trying to get us to go faster! We had so much fun walking around, and trying not to get dive bombed by acorns, and I found some paths that I had never even gone on. So, be excited next group to head out to the lake, we are going to have some fun with you!

What’s a blog post without pictures? Nothing, that’s what I say, so take a look at the caramel eating baby and my favourite shot from out at the lake.

{sneak peek} emily + dave’s madison wedding

Posted on September 20, 2010

I had to share just a super quick shot from Emily and Dave’s amazing wedding yesterday, I mean, how many brides will say “yes” when you ask if they are willing to climb?!  Have I mentioned lately how incredibly awesome our clients are? Well, they are totally awesome, take a look at this little teaser and know that I’ve got plenty more to come!

Ruth and I went to high school together and as sometimes happens, we kind of lost touch, but then we found each other again. Then one day Ruth says “I want you to do our engagement pictures”, and I of course was thrilled. Then Ruth says “I’m thinking about having it done at Taliesin.” Really?! I’m all over that, let’s do it. So we did, and even though we had to cancel our first time, the day we went out was so gorgeous that the wait was worth it. The light was perfect, the couple so in love and the location was amazing. Everywhere that Rob and I looked was someplace else to go, let’s go there, here, oh my, I need to pull over by that tree. You’ll see what I mean. ;) So take a look at Ruth and Chris’s fabulous images! I totally want to do it all over again, just looking at these makes me happy.

Hello world!

Posted on September 14, 2010

This is the new face of Griffin Photography. I’ve been nagging, yes I have, and nagging Rob for changes. He finally gave in. ;)

All our info is now in one location, which I love, you’ll find recent sessions, weddings and product info, along with a bit of our personal life mixed in for good measure. We want our clients to know who we are and what we’re like. I’m hoping that the new blogsite will help you all to become a little more familiar with the two of us and our family. We are blessed to have the most gorgeous little girl, okay so I’m a bit biased here, but she is pretty darn cute, and some of the most amazing clients.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, I hope you enjoy the new site, and please please please, if you notice anything weird let me know so I can fix it.
